Before watching, I’m guessing the title is referring to Quarles… Or Limehouse. Or both? Spoilers ahead!
Sometimes I hear their last name as “Gibbons” and I imagine everyone as monkeys. And it’s just as awesome.
“If I take this conversation vertical can I expect more of the same?” Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins in a room always makes for an excellent scene.
“You mean the m-m-m-m-Marshal?” Quarles and Limehouse have got to be getting sick of their underlings being all stressed out. No wonder he breaks out the brass knuckles. (I am in no way condoning violence.)
“I’m not gonna grab his nutsack or any other part of him!” and “Mad Ninja Skills”! Best 30 second conversation ever.”You know karate?” “And two other Japanese words.”
I might feel bad that I want Quarles to succeed, just so we can see the story escalate more and more each week.
I think this is the first time we’ve seen a title card showing location since maybe the pilot? Quarles and Wynn tracking down Gary is definitely going to make things interesting.
Honestly, I didn’t pay as much attention as I should have during this episode due to some curiosity about the budgets for FX dramas versus network dramas. There wasn’t quite as much action as usual, and only one Ava appearance, so it seemed like a relative lull compared to the rest of the season so far. But that’s okay, this is the middle of the season after all, and there needs to be at least one breather of an episode where nobody gets shot or anything. I will definitely watch it again later today, though.
